You are currently viewing How to Import Your Digital Planner into Goodnotes

You’ve downloaded your digital planner from this website, or from Etsy, and now you need to import it into Goodnotes. Here are the steps:

From Acrobat

If you followed the steps for downloading your file from this website or from Etsy, then this is what your page might look like. On the top right-hand corner, you’ll see the share icon. Click it and several options appear.

If you’ve already downloaded Goodnotes, you might see an “Open in Goodnotes” option right away.

If you don’t see that, you can swipe the horizontal list of apps all the way to the right, select “More” and find Goodnotes in the list of available apps.

Import to Goodnotes

The next step is to rename the file (if you want to) by clicking on the text to the right of the image and typing the new file name in.

Then, tap “Import as a New Document” at the bottom of this popup.

Change Scrolling Direction

If you’ve never used Goodnotes before, you may want to change the scrolling direction setting.

“Vertical scrolling” might be the default setting, and if you want to “flip” through the pages of your digital planner or notebook as you would a physical one, you’ll want to change this setting to “Horizontal scrolling.”

You can do this by tapping the three dots in the upper right-hand corner and selecting the “Scrolling Direction” setting.

Read Only vs Edit Mode

When the pen icon in the top right-hand corner looks like it has a swirl around it, it means you are in “Read-Only” mode. This means you can swipe pages and click on hyperlinks to navigate through the file, but cannot write or do any editing.

When the pen icon has a slash through it, it means you are in edit mode.

You can use pens, highlighters, sticker elements, and so much more!

You CANNOT, however, tap on hyperlinks while in “Edit” mode. You need to toggle back to “Read-Only” mode to tap on hyperlinks.

That’s it!

Your file has been imported into Goodnotes and you are ready to go.
